Berard, Civil Engineer II ���yp� <br /> r <br /> SUBJECT: Lake Decatur Dam Rehabilitation Project, City Project 2000-28A <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the <br /> contract for Lake Decatur Dam Rehabilitation Project, City Project 2000-28A, to OCCI, Inc., as <br /> the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of$542,370.00, and that the Mayor be authorized to <br /> execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. j <br /> BACKGROUND: � <br /> The Lake Decatur Dam Rehabilitation project involves the following work: � <br /> • Repair rip rap at left river bank <br /> • Place rip rap at stilling basing toe <br /> • Repair cracks in concrete <br /> • Patch deteriorated concrete �I <br /> • Repair joints in overlay of spillway <br /> • Saw cut new joints in spillway overlay I <br /> • Miscellaneous minor repair work <br /> This work is necessary to maintain the integrity of the City's lake impoundment structure and I <br /> thereby ensure its ability to provide a reliable source of water to our water customers. <br /> The project specifications were prepared by Harza Engineering Company, Inc. The project was � <br /> advertised on August 22, 2001 and bids were opened on September 11, 2001. The results of the �' <br /> letting are as follows (bid tabulation attached): I <br />
