Krie ssistant City Manager <br /> Hala Ahm , Environmental Program Specialis� <br /> I��� - <br /> SUBJECT: Renewal of the Curbside Recycling Contract for 2001-2002 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: City Staff recommends approval of the attached <br /> resolution, which when approved, will extend the Residential Curbside Recycling Agreement for <br /> the year 2001-2002. <br /> BACKGROUND: Under terms of the original recycling agreement, executed September 29, <br /> 1999, the City has the authority to extend the contract 4 times for a period of one year each time. <br /> The current agreement will expire on September 30, 2001. Suburban Disposal and Recycling, <br /> the recycling contractor, has generally performed well on providing recycling services and Staff <br /> has no objection to retaining their services for Decatur residents. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: Staff is not aware of any sources of objection at this time. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Please refer to the attached letter of agreement signed by <br /> the contractor approving the renewal of the agreement and the original recycling contract. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: If Council members have questions they may contact Hala Ahmed, <br /> 424-2798, hahmed(�a,decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The 2001-2002 contract will continue with the same fee <br /> determined in the original ageement, i.e. providing recycling services at $1.40/household/month, <br /> to be billed quarterly with municipal services. <br />
