Their project references have been contacted, and all have
been strongly and uniformly positive. HOK proposes to partner with Crawford, Bunte and
Brammeier(CBB) for the traffic engineering component of the project. Staff believes that HOK
and CBB will deliver a quality plan with workable initiatives that will lead to aesthetic, land use
and transportation improvements along the corridors as well as a quality streetscape plan for
West Main Street. Attached is HOK's proposed work program for the project.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: Staff is not aware of any objectors.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Prior to execution of a contract between the City and the
consultant, the consultant's work plan and budget must be approved by the Illinois Department of
Transportation. In practice, IDOT has nearly always approved a city's choice for consultant
services.
STAFF REFERENCE: Please contact Planning Manager Steven J. Van Steenhuyse at I
424-2790, e-mail: vansteen(adecaturnet.org ,
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The $10,000 match is alread in this ear's bud et. All I
Y Y g
funds for this proj ect must be expended during the current State fiscal year, which ends on June
30, 2002. Staff anticipates that the project will be completed by the end of February, 2002.
