Swanson, P.E.,Director of Engineering & Infrastructur�L� <br /> Matthew G Newell, P.E., City Engineer�� <br /> SUBJECT: Sanitary Sewer Trenchless Point Repairs, City Project 2001-29 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br />, It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the <br /> contract for Sanitary Sewer Trenchless Point Repairs, City Project 2001-29, to Tele Scan, Inc., as <br />' the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of$105,075.00, and that the Mayor be authorized to <br /> execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Sanitary Sewer Trenchless Point Repairs project involves repairing failed sections of <br />' sanitary sewer pipes of various sizes throughout the City. The trenchless technology that will be <br /> used for this proj ect utilizes a cured in place sleeve that permanently bridges a pipe failure and <br />� reinforces the area surrounding the failure. The resulting repair will restore the functional <br /> capability of the pipe and head off more major failures that can result in sewer backups and <br /> sinkholes. <br /> The project specifications were prepared by the Engineering Division. The project was <br /> advertised on June 6, 2001 and bids were opened on June 21, 2001.
