Newell, P.E., City Engineer,�it� <br /> SUBJECT: MFT Resolution Authorizing the Allocation of Funds for the City's Portion <br /> of the Installation of Traffic Signals at the Intersection of U.S. Route 36 <br /> and 36th Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> An item on the agenda for the June 4, 2001, City Council meeting is a resolution authorizing the <br /> allocation of funds from the City's Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Fund to pay the City's portion of the <br /> costs for construction of the proposed improvements as described in Agreement No. JN-501017 <br /> with the State of Illinois acting through its Department of Transportation. This agreement <br /> between the City of Decatur and the State of Illinois covers the proposed installation of traffic <br /> signals at the intersection of U.S. Route 36 and 36th Street. <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the <br /> allocation of MFT funds to pay the City's portion of costs associated with the proposed <br /> installation of traffic signals at the intersection of U.S. Route 36 and 36th Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) requires a resolution specifically authorizing <br /> the expenditure of funds from the City's MFT Fund. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution. <br />
