COUNCIL INFORMATION MEMORANDUM <br /> #01-75 <br /> May 31, 2001 <br /> TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Steve Garman, City Manager <br /> RE: MACON COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL FACILITY <br /> Councilwoman Brinkoetter has asked that the City Council authorize an appropriation of <br /> $10,000.00 to match $10,000.00 from other sources to be used to make minimal, necessary <br /> repairs to the Macon County Animal Control Facility. This facility, while the responsibility of <br /> the County of Macon,receives municipal funding annually. <br /> The Macon County Animal Control Facility is in need of significant repair. On a <br /> volunteer basis, certain contractors and subcontractors have volunteered efforts to make the <br /> shelter more habitable for animals, if materials costing approximately $20,000.00 can be <br /> purchased. <br /> The attached resolution would authorize the City Manager to spend up to $10,000.00 on <br /> condition that an additional $10,000.00 is raised and available to complete the necessary repairs. <br />
