E., Director of Eng. and Infrastructure� <br /> Matthew Newell, P.E., City Engineer��� <br /> SUBJECT: Agreement Covering the Improvement of U.S. Route 36 <br /> from Moffet Lane to Wyckles Road <br /> An item on the agenda for the January 8, 2001, City Council meeting is an agreement <br /> between the City of Decatur, County of Macon and the State of Illinois covering the proposed <br /> improvement of U.S. Route 36 from Moffet Lane to Wyckles Road, to include the modernization <br /> of the traffic signals at the intersection of U.S. Route 36 and Wyckles Road. <br /> The total cost of this proposed improvement is $2,564,155. Design and construction <br /> costs will be borne by the City ($3,335), County ($12,880), State ($766,500) and Federal <br /> ($1,781,440) governments. The City's cost is far street lighting to be included with the <br /> improvement of the traffic signals at the intersection of Wyckles Road and U.S. Route 36. The <br /> attached resolution authorizes the expenditure of up to 125% of the estimated cost to the City, or <br /> $3,680. <br /> Funding for this project will be paid for through the Motor Fuel Tax Fund. <br /> The Macon County Board approved this agreement on December 14, 2000. <br /> Staff will be present to answer any questions the Council may have. <br /> attach: 2 <br />
