I! <br /> Staff finds the proposal to be compatible with the adjacent uses in the area as well as the Decatur I�, <br /> Urban Area Land Use Plan. The City Plan Commission voted 8-0 to recommend approval of this I <br /> petition at the May 6, 2004 meeting; the minutes of the meeting are attached. �I <br /> BACKGROUND: The subject property is developed and is a scrap metal processing company located <br /> on nine (9) acres in a Heavy Industrial District. i <br /> The petitioner is requesting a conditional use permit for continued operation of the facility; a six (6) �' <br /> foot high sight break fence or six (6) foot high hedge or landscaping material will be constructed along '', <br /> North Woodford Street, McBride Avenue and approximately 600 feet on the south property line (or half ! <br /> the distance of the south property line). The petitioner is not required to fence in the back of the I <br /> property or along the east property line.
