, <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2004-23 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> - CHAPTER 67 - <br /> -BUILDING CODE - <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 67 of the City Code of the City of Decatur be, and the same is <br /> hereby, amended and modified at Sections 2, 3, 6, and 7 thereof, so that said Sections 2, 3, 6, and <br /> 7, as amended, shall provide as follows: <br /> 2. BUILDING CODE. The same having been duly placed and remained <br /> on filed as required by law, and subject to the additions, modifications, changes or <br /> deletions set out in this Chapter, 2003 International Building Code the same being <br /> found and declared by the Council to be regulations as defined by applicable <br /> statute, is hereby adopted by reference and the same to be known, and which may <br /> be cited, as the "The Building Code" of the City, and which shall have the scope <br /> and applicability as therein set out, except as modified by the provisions of this <br /> Chapter. <br /> 3. SUBSTITUTIONS. (A) Whenever in said Code the words, "name of <br /> the jurisdiction" or "jurisdiction" appear in brackets, said code is modified by <br /> removal of said brackets and substitution of the words "the City of Decatur, <br /> Illinois," in lieu of the words contained therein, and said Code shall be taken and <br /> construed as if such were expressly so set out therein. <br /> (B) Whenever in said Building Code any of the other codes listed first in <br /> each of subsections (i) through (vi) hereof is mentioned, such code shall be deleted <br /> therefrom and the code listed immediately thereafter said subsection shall be <br /> substituted in lieu thereof, as indicated, and said Code shall be taken and construed <br /> as if such latter code were expressly so set out therein: (i) International Property <br /> Maintenance Code, to be replaced by BOCA National Property Maintenance <br /> Code/1993; (ri) International Electric Code, to be replaced by the National <br />
