Stewart,Transportation Planner v� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 372 West Hillshire Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 3.58 acres, the property is an undeveloped vacant lot. <br /> Annexation is requested for connection to City water. The property to the east is zoned R-1 Single <br /> Family Residence District; property to the north, south and west is in the County; when annexed the area <br /> will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to <br /> the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is vacant. <br /> 2. City water will be extended from Hillshire Road and Sherwood to the development. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is nine (9)minutes. South Wheatland is the <br /> Fire Protection District. <br /> 5. Currently the street is unimproved. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,jaste��-art(rz;decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Revenue information is not available. <br />
