The request is being sought to allow Enloe Drugs, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kentucky based Omnicare, LLC, to pursue a potential facility consolidation and to be able to access state tax credits and exemptions available under the Enterprise Zone program. Local property tax abatement has been granted for the proposed project as it meets the established qualifying criteria. The request has been previously approved by the Enterprise Zone Advisory Board. Maps highlighting the proposed location are included for your information. As a point of reference, the parcel in question is located on the southeast corner of Route 36 West and Sunnyside Road and is contiguous to the current zone boundary. City staff has indicated that the proposed property is zoned appropriately for the business in question. The proposed 40,000 SF facility would result in the retention of 100 jobs and the creation 6 new jobs. Enloe/Omnicare currently employs 146 in Decatur. Upon your approval, the requests will be forwarded to the State of Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for final certification. A final location decision will be made by the company within the next 60 days. Please contact me if you have any questions.
