E., City Engineervz�,,,,,,�t <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Installation of a Handicapped Parking Space on <br /> Center Street Adjacent to 1468 North Monroe Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of a <br /> handicapped parking space on Center Street adjacent to 1468 North Monroe Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> At the November 12, 2003 meeting of the Traffic and Parking Commission, the Commission <br /> approved a request from a resident at 1468 North Monroe Street to recommend the installation <br /> of a handicapped parking space on Center Street. This recommendation is aimed to assist the <br /> physically challenged person residing at that address. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objectors to this action. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747. <br /> The City Engineer, Matt Newell, will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any <br /> questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Budgetary impacts are approximately $200.00 for the <br /> installation of the required sign and defining the space on the street. This work was completed <br /> approximately one month ago under a 90 day order from the Police Chief in order to provide <br /> immediate relief to the resident. <br /> attach: 3 <br /> cc: John Smith, Asst.
