Miller, AICP,Planner(c��ry•� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 1752 South Baltimare Avenue <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would <br /> produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as <br /> presented. <br /> BA�KGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.48 acres, the property is currently vacant. Annexation <br /> is requested for water connection/future development. The property to the north, south and west is zoned <br /> R-1 Single Family Residence District; property to the east is in the County; when annexed the area will <br /> come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the <br /> area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is vacant. <br /> 2. City water is located adjacent to the tract at Baltimore Avenue. <br /> 3. The sanitary sewer is adjacent to the tract at Baltimore Avenue. T'he property is not <br /> within the boundaries of the Sanitary District; a filing fee of$930 an acre is required <br /> prior to sewer connection. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is six(6)minutes. Long Creek is the Fire Protection <br /> District. <br /> 5. Baltimore Avenue is asphalt; the City and the County are in the process of a street <br /> jurisdiction transfer transferring maintenance to the County. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Kathy Miller at 424-2786, <br /> �miller(a�decaturnet.or�or A.J.
