PUBLIC WORKS MEMORANDUM <br /> NO. 2016-01 <br /> DATE: January 28,2016 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason, City Manager <br /> Richard G. Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Annexing Territory— 11 Cloyds Drive <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the subject annexation petition <br /> be approved. <br /> BACKGROUND: The subject property adjoins Decatur City limits on the west, south and <br /> north. Property to the east is located in the County. The lot contains approximately 0.763 acres. <br /> The lot is improved with a residence. The following information is relevant to the areas in <br /> question: <br /> 1. City water is currently available and connected to the subject property. <br /> 2. No additional public infrastructure or municipal services are needed or contemplated. <br /> 3. Decatur Fire response distance and time averages 3.7 miles and 7 minutes, respectively. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: No known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The owner request annexation for water service. The plat <br /> and annexation request has been reviewed by Engineering, Finance, Fire, Legal, Macon County <br /> Health Department, Municipal Services Division, Planning& Building Services,Neighborhood <br /> Services, and Water Services. All of the reviewers recommend the annexation be approved. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City <br /> Engineer. Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any <br /> questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Based on the current assessed value, approximately $144 <br /> in real estate, $67 in motor fuel and $231 in state income t�es may be realized annually by <br /> annexing the property. <br /> Attach: 4 <br />
