Harris, City Clerk <br /> FROM: Steve Garman, City Manage <br /> RE: Promulgated Rule Chapter 56 <br /> Attached to this memorandum is the 2003 residential refuse collection rate schedule. <br /> Along with the new rate schedule, the following promulgated rules concerning residential refuse <br /> collection services shall take effect January 1, 2003. <br /> Billm�: <br /> It is the intent of the City of Decatur that billing practices and various fees be standardized. <br /> 1. Effective January 1, 2003, licensed residential haulers shall bill residents for services in <br /> increments not exceeding two (2) months. For any two month billing period,the payment due <br /> date shall be the last day of the first month. <br /> 2. Effective January 1, 2003, each residential refuse service account shall be subject to a <br /> $1.50/month late fee for all unpaid balances after 30 days. <br /> 3. Each bill must contain the following information: <br /> (1) Billing period and due date � <br /> (2) Amount due <br /> (3) Address for which service has been provided <br /> � (4) Hauler contact inforn�ation, including name, address, and telephone number. <br /> (5) A notation that all unpaid balances are subject to $1.50 per month late fee after <br /> 30 days <br /> Service Interruption Fee: � <br /> It is the intent of the City of Decatur that each residence in the City of Decatur receive refuse <br /> collection service. <br /> Effective January 1, 2003, each residential property owner will have the ability to temporarily <br /> interrupt collection service for a minimum two month period. Any service interruption must be scheduled <br /> in advance with the designated hauler,be for a minimum two month period, and subject to a$5 fee. Each <br /> residential property in the City is eligible for only one service interruption per calendaz year. <br />
