Mill , , AICP,Planner�r�•J <br /> �' <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises located at 2206 South Taylor Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation is a logical extension of <br /> the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROLJND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed by the petitioner with <br /> the City Clerk's Office. This petition corrects the petition filed in June 2002. A miscommunication between the <br /> petitioner and staff caused a plat of the south 75 feet of the property instead of the north 75 feet of the property to be <br /> annexed. The petitioner discovered the enor when receiving the tax bill. Since not all owners of the previous tract <br /> signed the petition for annexation,this property will be de-annexed and the correct parcel will be annexed. <br /> Containing approximately 0.43 acres, the property is developed with a single family residence. Annexation is I <br /> requested for water service. The property to the south and east is in the County; the property to the north and east is <br /> zoned R-1 (Single Family Residence District); when annexed, the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family <br /> Residence District. The following information is relative to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is developed with a single family residence. <br /> 2. City water is located at South Taylor Road. <br /> 3. The area has an adequate sewer disposal system and is currently not served by sanitary <br /> sewer. The subject property is not within the boundaries of the Sanitary District. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is five(5)minutes. South Wheatland is the <br /> Fire Protection District. <br /> 5. South Taylor Road is seal treated and maintained by the City of Decatur. There is adequate <br /> street lighting. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal Services, <br /> Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department and the Decatur <br /> Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Kathy Miller at 424-2786 or at <br /> kj miller@decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $526.17 would become available <br /> from the combined total real estate ($289.17) motor fuel ($11837) and state income taxes ($118.63) from the <br /> property. <br />
