Mill , , AICP,Planner�r�•J �' SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises located at 2206 South Taylor Road SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation is a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. BACKGROLJND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed by the petitioner with the City Clerk's Office. This petition corrects the petition filed in June 2002. A miscommunication between the petitioner and staff caused a plat of the south 75 feet of the property instead of the north 75 feet of the property to be annexed. The petitioner discovered the enor when receiving the tax bill. Since not all owners of the previous tract signed the petition for annexation,this property will be de-annexed and the correct parcel will be annexed. Containing approximately 0.43 acres, the property is developed with a single family residence. Annexation is I requested for water service. The property to the south and east is in the County; the property to the north and east is zoned R-1 (Single Family Residence District); when annexed, the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relative to the area in question: 1. The parcel is developed with a single family residence. 2. City water is located at South Taylor Road. 3. The area has an adequate sewer disposal system and is currently not served by sanitary sewer. The subject property is not within the boundaries of the Sanitary District. 4. The average fire response time is five(5)minutes. South Wheatland is the Fire Protection District. 5. South Taylor Road is seal treated and maintained by the City of Decatur. There is adequate street lighting. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $526.17 would become available from the combined total real estate ($289.17) motor fuel ($11837) and state income taxes ($118.63) from the property.
