Mill r, AICP,Planner �g'/)'t� <br /> SUBJECT: Dredge Mobilization Site, Conditional Use Permit, 3615 North Star Route Road <br /> City of Decatur �I <br /> SiJMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the best interests of the City of �I <br /> Decatur would be served by approving the Conditional Use Permit for the dredge mobilization �� <br /> facility in the proposed location. Staff recommends approval of the petition. The Plan I <br /> Commission reviewed the request at the September 5, 2002 meeting and recommended approval !I <br /> with a vote of 6 to 0 to 1. Plan Commission minutes are attached. <br /> BACKGROUND: The 52 acre site (adjacent to Lake Decatur) was annexed to the city on , <br /> August 5, 2002, for use as the City's Dredge Mobilization Site and is currently undeveloped. I <br /> The City has owned the property for numerous years. The site will be used as a mobilization site ' <br /> for the next five years or more. Long Creek will provide a two inch water main to the site. The <br /> area is currently not served by sanitary sewer. A temporary office structure and a storage garage <br /> will be located on the property near Lake Decatur, which will not be visible from Star Route , <br /> Road. The City currently has no plans to develop the site after the dredging is completed. <br /> The facility is located and designed to be operated in a manner that the public health, safety and ', <br /> welfare will be protected. The facility will not cause substantial injury to the value of other <br /> properties in the neighborhood.
