Miller, AICP, Planner l�� SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises located at Route 36 and Wyckles Road SLTMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation is a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. BACKGROLTND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed by Tabernacle Church with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 36.63 acres, the property is currently undeveloped. Annexation is requested for future water service. The property to the east, north and west is in the County; the property to the south is zoned B-2 and R-1 (Commercial District and Single Family Residence District); when annexed, the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The sunounded area created by this annexation will be annexed as part of the agreement with R.E.I.D. and the water park. The following information is relative to the area in question: 1. The parcel is vacant. 2. City water is located at Wyckles Road. 3. The area is currently not served by sanitary sewer. 4. The average fire response time is 10.5 minutes. Hanistown is the Fire Protection District. 5. Wyckles Road is seal treated and maintained by the City of Decatur. Route 36 is concrete and is maintained by the State of Illinois. Street lighting exists on Route 36, but not on Wycles Road. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department and the Decatur Sanitary District.
