Miller, AICP, Planner l�� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises located at Route 36 and Wyckles Road <br /> SLTMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation is a logical <br /> extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROLTND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed by <br /> Tabernacle Church with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 36.63 acres, the property is <br /> currently undeveloped. Annexation is requested for future water service. The property to the east, north <br /> and west is in the County; the property to the south is zoned B-2 and R-1 (Commercial District and <br /> Single Family Residence District); when annexed, the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family <br /> Residence District. The sunounded area created by this annexation will be annexed as part of the <br /> agreement with R.E.I.D. and the water park. The following information is relative to the area in <br /> question: <br /> 1. The parcel is vacant. <br /> 2. City water is located at Wyckles Road. <br /> 3. The area is currently not served by sanitary sewer. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is 10.5 minutes. Hanistown is the Fire Protection <br /> District. <br /> 5. Wyckles Road is seal treated and maintained by the City of Decatur. Route 36 is <br /> concrete and is maintained by the State of Illinois. Street lighting exists on Route 36, <br /> but not on Wycles Road. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Kathy Miller at 424-2786 <br /> or at kjmiller@decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: No additional annual revenue will become available as the property <br /> is tax exempt. <br />
