Mill , AICP,Planner K�`Y1�-' <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 3615 North Star Route Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 52.0 acres, the property is currently undeveloped. <br /> Annexation is requested for use as the City's Dredge Mobilization Site. The property is adjacent to Lake <br /> Decatur to the east; properly to the west, north and south is in the County; when annexed the area will <br /> come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The City has owned the property for <br /> numerous years. The site will be used as a mobilization site for the next five years or more. The <br /> following information is relative to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is vacant. <br /> 2. Long Creek will provide a two inch water main to the site. <br /> 3. The area is currently not served by sanitary sewer. <br /> 4. The average fire response time for the Decatur Fire Department is 14 minutes. The site <br /> is between the Decatur and Argenta Fire Protection Districts. <br /> 5. Star Route Road is seal treated and maintained by Oakley Township. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, the Macon County Health Department and <br /> the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Kathy Miller at 424-2786 <br /> ar at kjmiller@decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: No additional revenue will be received from annexation as the <br /> property is owned by the City of Decatur. <br />
