• U <br /> � <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2002-50 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> - CHAPTER 60 - <br /> -TAXICABS AND TAXI DRIVERS - <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 60 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the �', <br /> same is hereby, amended and modified at Section 21, so that said Section 21, at subsection (i) <br /> thereof as amended, shall provide as follows: <br /> 21. APPLICATION FOR TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSE. <br /> (i). No applicant shall be granted a taxicab driver's <br /> license as required by this Chapter if such person has ever been convicted of a <br /> felony, as defined in the Criminal Code of 1961 (720 ILCS 5/1-1 et seq.) or <br /> any successor statute, or as defined in any federal legislation or similar <br /> legislation in any other jurisdiction, or if such person is required to register <br /> with the Chief of Police pursuant to the Illinois Sex Offender Registration <br /> Act (730 ILCS 150/1 et seq.) or any successor statute; provided that, the <br /> foregoing restrictions regarding felony convictions shall not apply to any <br /> applicant who was licensed hereunder on April 30, 2002, and who has not <br /> been convicted of a felony or completed a term of imprisonment therefor <br /> within five (5) years of said date. No applicant not licensed on July 1, 2002, <br /> shall be granted a taxicab driver's license if such person has knowingly made <br /> any false statements of material fact on any current or previous application for <br /> such license. <br />
