• U � ORDINANCE NO. 2002-50 ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE - CHAPTER 60 - -TAXICABS AND TAXI DRIVERS - BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Chapter 60 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the �', same is hereby, amended and modified at Section 21, so that said Section 21, at subsection (i) thereof as amended, shall provide as follows: 21. APPLICATION FOR TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSE. (i). No applicant shall be granted a taxicab driver's license as required by this Chapter if such person has ever been convicted of a felony, as defined in the Criminal Code of 1961 (720 ILCS 5/1-1 et seq.) or any successor statute, or as defined in any federal legislation or similar legislation in any other jurisdiction, or if such person is required to register with the Chief of Police pursuant to the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act (730 ILCS 150/1 et seq.) or any successor statute; provided that, the foregoing restrictions regarding felony convictions shall not apply to any applicant who was licensed hereunder on April 30, 2002, and who has not been convicted of a felony or completed a term of imprisonment therefor within five (5) years of said date. No applicant not licensed on July 1, 2002, shall be granted a taxicab driver's license if such person has knowingly made any false statements of material fact on any current or previous application for such license.
