APPOINTMENTS FROM ELIGIBLE REGISTERS. �,A,� <br /> Department directors, as appointing officers, are authorized to appoint any <br /> candidate for any non-promotional classified position with the City who is placed <br /> on the eligible register for such position by the Civil Service Commission, without <br /> regard to the rank of said person on such register. <br /> �B) With regard to the register of candidates for ori '�nal appointment to <br /> the Police Department, the Civil Service Commission shall strike off names of <br /> candidates from said register after they have remained thereon for one(12year. <br />
