ORDINANCE NO. 2001-85 `��,�� r��;Lr` �� 24.00� ch p��;�rd�► ORDINANCE VACATING PORTION OF AN ALLEY - SITUATED BETWEEN 701 WEST GRAND AVENUE AND WEST LEAFLAND STREET - WHEREAS, a request has been received from James Kennedy, owner of property abutting thereon, requesting the vacation by the City Council of that portion of alley in the City of Decatur, Illinois described as: That portion of the 16-foot wide alley North of and adjacent to Lots 18, 19 and 20 in Block 1 of Frank Roach's Addition to the City of Decatur, as per Plat recorded in Book 149, Page 91 of the ;, records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois; and, ' WHEREAS, said portion of alley is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owner of the property abutting thereon as an alley; and, WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of alley and the public will be relieved from the further burden and responsibility of maintaining the same. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the above described portion of alley be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public alley inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public interest will be subserved by such vacation, said portion of alley being shown on the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part hereof. Section 2. That the benefits which will be accrued to the owner of abutting property by reason of the vacation aforesaid is determined to be, in the judgment of the Council, equal to the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
