Miller, AICP, Planner ��� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly lrnown as 2350 Baker Lane <br /> SLTMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would <br /> produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as <br /> presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.848 acres, the property is developed with a single <br /> family residence. Annexation is requested for water service. The property to the east and south is zoned <br /> R-1 Single Family Residence District; property to the west and north is in the County; when annexed the I <br /> area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is <br /> relative to the areas in question: <br /> 1. The parcel contains a single family residence. <br /> 2. City water is located adjacent to the tract at Baker Lane <br /> 3. The area is currently not served by sanitary sewer. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is 7.5 minutes. Harristown is the Fire Protection District. <br /> 5. Baker Lane is sealed treated and maintained by the City of Decatur in coardination with <br /> the Township. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Not known. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Kathy Miller at 424-2786. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $638.99 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($369.34, motor fuel ($139.20) and state income taxes <br /> ($130.45) from the vacant property. <br />
