COUNCIL MEMORANDUM
#2001-08
July 12, 2001
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: Steve G City Manager
John W. C tr, Corporation Counsel/,,
Ov
RE: CHAPTER 52
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached ordinance amending City Code
Chapter 52, Section 4, regarding Class E license classifications.
BACKGROUND:
The Decatur Park District has requested that the Class E license classification be amended to
allow the Park District to exercise one of its current Class E liquor licenses at either the Decatur
Indoor Sports Complex or the Scovill Zoo Education Center. The license classification is being
amended to allow the use of a current liquor license at either facility but only at a non-continuous
event such as a reception or charity event.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: Since the Decatur Park District does not permit outside caterers to
use Park District facilities,no objectors are anticipated.
STAFF REFERENCE: If Council members have questions, they may contact John Couter at
424-2807.
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None.
