, � . ORDINANCE NO. 2001-18 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING STOP INTERSECTION -SILAS STREET AND LINCOLN AVENUE - BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That when appropriate signs are erected giving notice thereof, the driver of a vehicle on Lincoln Aveue approaching Silas Street from the east or west shall stop and yield the right-of-way to vehicles on Silas Street which have entered the intersection of said streets or which are approaching so closely thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard, but said driver having so stopped and yielded the right-of-way may proceed at such time as a safe interval occurs. Section 2. That the existing yield signs on Silas Street, at its intersection with Lincoln Avenue, shall be removed. Section 3. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense. Section 4. That the provisions of all ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance which insofar as the same do conflict therewith be, and the same are hereby,repealed.
