"Attachment A" <br /> PUBLIC NOTICE <br /> TO ALL OWNERS AND PERSONS IN CONTROL OF ANY VACANT LOT OR LOT <br /> WITH AN UNOCCUPIED STRUCTURE IN THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS <br /> You are hereby notified that all weeds, grass or other underbrush which have grown to a <br /> height of ten (10) inches or more or allowed to flower are a violation of Chapter 48 Section 8 of <br /> the Decatur City Code. <br /> You are hereby notified in accordance with Section 8 (a) of Chapter 48 of the Decatur <br /> City Code, that should the growth of weeds, grass or other underbrush grow to more than ten <br /> (10) inches in height or be allowed to flower on the vacant lot or a lot with an unoccupied <br /> structure located in Decatur, Illinois, the City of Decatur, or its representative, may cut the <br /> weeds, grass or underbrush or cause the same to be cut without further notice and the owner, <br /> lessee, occupant, agent or person in control of the property shall be liable to the City of Decatur <br /> for said costs and a lien for the costs may be filed against the property. <br /> You are also hereby notified that pursuant to Section 8 of Chapter 48, you shall cut, or <br /> cause to be cut, any weeds, grass, or underbrush as described herein which are growing or <br /> located between the prolongation of the side lot lines thereof, and between the rear or front lot <br /> line thereof, as the case may be, and the edge of any roadway or alley under the jurisdiction or <br /> control of the City and abutting such lot of ground, or part thereof, "roadway" and "alley", as <br /> used herein, shall have the meanings ascribed thereto in The Illinois Vehicle Code; provided, <br /> however, that no such owner, lessee, occupant or agent shall be responsible for cutting any <br /> weeds, grass, or underbrush on public right-of-way if such are growing or located (1) on ground <br /> which has a slope greater than one to one and a height which exceeds three feet from the bottom <br /> of the slope to the top of the slope, or (2) on ground which is inaccessible to grounds <br /> maintenance equipment customarily used by residential households due to unusual topographical <br /> conditions or structures erected prior to February 15, 1991. <br /> This public notice shall be final to all owner and persons in control of vacant lots and lots <br /> with an unoccupied structure. <br /> Neighborhood Services Department <br /> Neighborhood Standards Section <br /> # 1 Gary K.
