Mill , AICP, Plannerjt�� ' <br /> ,��� � <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of Surrounded Area: 3753, 3757, 3767, 3787 North Greenswitch Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: In keeping with City policy to annex surrounded areas and <br /> thereby create a more logical and consistent corporate boundary, staff recommends approval of the <br /> annexations as presented. , <br /> BACKGROUND: Final action to annex parcels of land which are sunounded by the corporate limits is <br /> scheduled for (Monday, March 19, 2001). The appropriate ordinance to annex these parcels was <br /> received and placed on file by the City Council on Monday, March 5. The property owners were notified <br /> of the proposed annexation action. The total area of the parcels is 1.33 acres. The surrounding area is <br /> zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District to the north, west and south; the area to the east is zoned <br /> M-1 Light Industrial District; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family <br /> Residence District. The following information is relative to the areas in question: <br /> 1. The arcel contains two sin le famil structures and two vacant lots. <br /> P g Y <br /> 2. City water is located adjacent to the tracts at Greenswitch Road. <br /> 3. The area is not served by sanitary sewer. <br /> 4. The average �re response time is 8 minutes. Hickory Point is the <br /> Fire Protection District. ' <br /> 5. Greenswitch Road is asphalt construction and is currently maintained <br /> by the Macon County Highway Department. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Not lrnown. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Kathy Miller at 424-2786. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $843.75 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($444.43), motor fuel ($87.28 x 2 = $174.56) and state <br /> income taxes ($112.38 x 2 = $224.76) from the properties. <br />
