Miller,AICP,Planner i��� ' <br /> . � <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory commonly known as Boiling Springs Cemetery <br /> A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject territory has been filed with the City Clerk's <br /> Office. Containing 9.61 acres, the area in question is currently developed as a cemetery. The <br /> reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water. Annexation to the city limits was a <br /> condition of the water agreement. The area to the west is zoned R-1 Single-Family Residence <br /> District; properties to the north, south and east are in the County; when annexed the area will <br /> come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. <br /> The following information is relative to the areas in question: <br /> 1. The parcel contains a cemetery. <br /> 2. City water is located adjacent to the tract at Boiling Springs Road. <br /> 3. The area is not served by sanitary sewers. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is 5.5 minutes. Warrensburg is the Fire <br /> Protection District. <br /> 5. Boiling Springs Road is seal treated construction and will be maintained by <br /> the City of Decatur. <br /> 6. Additional annual revenue $O--Hickory Point Township is tax exempt. <br /> 7. Properties with water agreements will become contiguous to the corporate limits <br /> with this annexation(see map). When properties become contiguous, the <br /> owner of said property should annex to the city within 90 days of notification <br /> by the City. <br /> Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the <br /> corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br />
