CHAPTER 69 ELECTRICAL CODE ADDITIONS AND 2. ELECTRICAL CODE. T'he same having been duly placed and remained on file as required by law, and subject to the additions, modifications, changes or deletions set out in this Chapter, the National Electrical Code, �99h 1999 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association, the same being found and declared by the Council to be regulations as defined by applicable statute, is hereby adopted by reference and the same to be known, and which may be cited, as "The Electrical Code" of the City, and which shall have the scope and applicability as therein set out, except as modified by the provisions of this Chapter. 9. UTILITY SPECIFICATIONS. A. All newly installed electrical services shall be in conformance with "Electrical Meter Standards for Electrical Contractors," effective January 1,��, 1999 by Illinois Power,unless otherwise provided herein. 10. CODE APPLICATIONS - SPECIFIC. A. New buildings of all types: 1) The-��% 1999 edition of the National Electrical Code written by the Fire Protection Association will be the accepted code for all electrical wiring installations with the exception of Article 230-70 (a) "Location of service disconnecting means." Said Article 230-70 is hereby amended to provide as follows: "The service disconnecting means sha11 be installed at a readily accessible location either outside of a building or structure, or inside nearest the point of entrance of the service conductors,but not to exceed ten feet." 4) Receptacles of the ground-fault circuit-intemxpter type shall be located er� in the immediate area where protection is required by code. Immediate area is to be defined as adjacent baths, the same room, garage, basements, one side of the outside of buildings, and where receptacles are localized, such as construction 'i sites. I
