Mi er, AICP,Planner�C/�,�/ —I� SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 2667 East Mound Road A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's Office. Containing 1.19 acres, the area in question is currently developed with a single family dwelling. The reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water to serve the existing dwelling. The surrounding area is zoned R-1 Single-Family Residence District to the south and east and developed as such; properties to the west and the north are in the County; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relative to the areas in question: 1. The parcel contains a single family sh-ucture. 2. City water is located adjacent to the tract at Mound Road. 3. The existing residence is served by an individual septic system approved by the Public Health Department. The area is not served by sanitary sewer. 4. The average fire response time is 6.5 minutes. Hickory Point is the Fire Protection District. Additional fire hydrants will be needed on Mound Road. 5. Mound Road is asphalt construction and will be maintained by the Macon County Highway Department. 6. Additional annual revenue of approximately $402.81 would become available from the combined total real estate($203.15), motor fuel ($87.28) and state income taxes ($112.38) from the property. 7. This annexation will create a surrounded area. Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented.
