Miller, AICP,Planner �� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 1410 West Mound Road <br /> A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's <br /> Office. Containing 1.89 acres, the area in question is currently developed with a single family <br /> dwelling. The reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water to serve the existing <br /> dwelling. The surrounding area is zoned R-5 Two-Family Residence District to the south and <br /> west and developed with Oakwood Estates and Keystone Meadows; annexed properties to the <br /> east are zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District.; when annexed the area will come into the <br /> city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. <br /> The following information is relative to the areas in question: <br /> 1. The parcel contains a single family structures. <br /> 2. City water is located adjacent to the tracts at Mound Road. <br /> 3. The existing residence is served by an individual septic system <br /> approved by the Public Health Department. The area is not served by <br /> sanitary sewer and is not within the boundaries of the Sanitary District. The <br /> fee for annexing to the District is $930 per acre. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is 6 minutes. Hickory Point is the Fire <br /> Protection District. <br /> 5. Mound Road is asphalt construction and seal treated and is currently <br /> maintained by the Macon County Highway Department. <br /> 6. Additional annual revenue of approximately$498.94 would become available <br /> from the combined total real estate ($299.28), motor fuel ($87.28) and state <br /> income taxes ($112.38)from the property. <br /> Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the <br /> corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br />
