Mille ,AICP,Planner�p,� -,..�� SUBJECT: Annexation of Surrounded Area--2688, 2698 Finch Drive, 3727 Greenswitch Road Final action to annex parcels of land which are surrounded by the corporate limits is scheduled for action (Monday, September 18, 2000). The appropriate ordinance to annex these parcels was received and placed on file by the City Council on Monday, August 21. The property owners were notified of the proposed annexation action. The following information is relative to the areas in question: 1. The parcel contains three single family structures. 2. City water is located adjacent to the tracts at Finch Drive and Greenswitch Road. 3. The area is not served by sanitary sewer. 4. The average fire response time is 6 minutes. Hickory Point is the Fire Protection District. 5. Finch Drive is asphalt construction and seal treated and is currently maintained jointly by the Township and the City of Decatur. Greenswitch is asphalt construction and maintained by the Macon County Highway Department. 6. Additional annual revenue of approximately$1065 would become available from the combined total real estate,motor fuel and state income taxes from the properties. The total area of the parcels is 1.15 acres. The surrounding area is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District R-6 Multiple Dwelling Residence District; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. In keeping with city policy to annex surrounded areas and thereby create a mare logical and consistent corporate boundary, staff recommends approval of the annexation as presented.
