Miller,AICP,Planner � <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of Surrounded Area--East Rea's Bridge Road <br /> Final action to annex parcels of land which are surrounded by the corporate limits is scheduled <br /> for action (Monday, September 18, 2000). The appropriate ordinance to annex these parcels was <br /> received and placed on file by the City Council on Monday, August 21. Property owners were <br /> notified of the proposed annexation action. <br /> The following information is relative to the areas in question: <br /> 1. Undeveloped land located is located on the parcels. ' <br /> 2. City water is located adjacent to the tracts at Rea's Bridge Road. I <br /> 3. The area is not served by sanitary sewer. � <br /> 4. The average fire response time is 8 minutes for the first engine company and I <br /> 10.5 minutes overall. The closest fire hydrant is 0.5 miles away; an additional ,, <br /> hydrant will need to be installed. Decatur is the Fire Protection District. ' <br /> 5. Rea's Bridge Road(asphalt construction)is maintained by the Macon County <br /> Highway Department. ', <br /> 6. Additional annual revenue of approximately$1228.42 would become available , <br /> from the combined total real estate,motor fuel and state income taxes from <br /> the property. <br /> The total area of the parcels is 5.016 acres. The surrounding area is zoned R-1; when annexed ' <br /> the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. <br /> In keeping with city policy to annex surrounded areas and thereby create a more logical and ' <br /> consistent corporate boundary, staff recommends approval of the annexation as presented. �, <br />
