Miller,AICP, Planner �„��� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of Surrounded Area at 1190 West South Side Drive, 99 Club <br /> Final action to annex a tract of land located at 1190 West South Side Drive which is surrounded by the <br /> corporate limits is scheduled for action (Monday, July 17, 2000). The appropriate ordinance to annex <br /> this parcel was received and placed on file by the City Council on Monday, June 19, 2000. The property <br /> owner has been notified of the proposed annexation action. The total area of the property is .43 acres. <br /> The surrounding area is zoned B-1 Neighborhood Shopping District and B-2 Commercial District; a <br /> petition to rezone the property to B-2 Commercial District has been presented to the Plan Commission <br /> and will also be presented to the City Council at this time. <br /> The following information is relative to the areas in question: <br /> 1. Lot One(1)of Borchers Subdivision is currently the site of a tavern(99 Club). <br /> 2. City water is available and located adjacent to the tracts at South Side Drive. <br /> 3. The property is served by an individual septic system approved by the Public <br /> Health Deparhnent. Sanitary Sewer is located west of the property and is <br /> available. <br /> , 4. The average fire response time is 4.8 minutes. South VVheatland is the Fire <br /> Protection District. <br /> 5. South Side Drive is a state route and maintained by the State of Illinois. <br /> 6. Additional annual revenue of approximately$2754.59 would become available <br /> from the combined total real estate,motor fuel and state income taxes from <br /> the properly. <br /> 7.� An ordinance amending the City Code authorizing the creation of an additional <br /> Class A license so that the tavern can continue to operate is also presented at this <br /> time. <br /> In keeping with city policy to annex surrounded areas and thereby create a more logical and consistent <br /> corporate boundary, staff recommends approval of the annexation as presented. <br />
