ECONOMIC AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
No. 00-73
March 30, 2000
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members
FROM: Steve Garman, City Manager
A. J. Krieger, Assistant City Manager
MForgey, AICP, Senior PlannerY
Kathy J. Miller, AICP, Planner►
SUBJECT: Annexation of premises commonly known as 2668 Finch Drive
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's
Office. Containing 1.0 acres, the area in question is currently developed with a single family
dwelling. The reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water to serve the existing
dwelling. The surrounding area is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District; annexed territory
is automatically zoned R-1.
The following information is relative to the tract in question:
1. City water is available and located adjacent to the lot at Finch Drive;
service is readily available.
2. The esting residence is served by an individual septic system
approved by the Public Health Department. The sanitary sewer is
not readily available. There are no current plans to connect to sewers.
3. The streets are asphalt construction with seal treatment.
4. The average fire response time is 6 minutes.
5. Additional annual revenue of approximately $560 would become available
from the combined total real estate, motor fuel and state income taxes.
Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the
corporate limits. Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented.
