Howley and City Council Members
FROM: Steve Garman, City Manager '
A. J. Krieger, Assistant City Manager ,
Mac Forgey, AICP, Senior Planner%Y
Kathy J. Miller, AICP, Planner 1'
SUBJECT: Annexation of premises commonly known as 3305 West Marietta Street
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's
Office. Containing 0.36 acres, the area in question is currently developed with a single family
dwelling. The reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water to serve the existing
dwelling. The surrounding area is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District; annexed territory
is automatically zoned R-1.
The following data has been compiled relative to the proposed annexation:
1. An esting water main is located adjacent to the subject tract
at Marietta Street; service is readily available.
2. The existing residence is served by an individual septic system
approved by the Public Health Department. Sanitary sewer is
not available.
3. The streets are asphalt construction with seal treatment. There
are no sidewalks or curb or gutter.
4. The average fire response time is 7 minutes.
5. Additional annual revenue of approximately $427 would become I
available from the combined total of real estate, motor fuel, and '
state income taxes.
Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical ertension of the
corporate limits. Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented.
