Urban Development Department recommends for approval in said opinion. In no <br /> event shall the prohibition required hereby extend for more than four(4)months. <br /> Section 6. That Section 2 of Chapter 34 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, <br /> be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended, so that said Section 2, as so modified and <br /> amended, shall provide as follows: <br /> 2. TRAFFIC AND PARKING COMMISSION. There is hereby <br /> created a Traffic and Parking Commission consisting of nine members of which <br /> five such members shall be citizen members to serve without compensation and <br /> the remaining members shall be employees or officers of the City one from the <br /> Department of Public Works, one from the Fire Department, one from the Police <br /> Department, and one from the Economic and Urban Development Department. <br /> The five citizen members shall serve for a term of three years, and shall be <br /> appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. The other four <br /> members, being representatives of the departments and divisions of the City <br /> aforesaid, shall be designated by the City Manager by appointment in writing <br /> communicated to said Commission, which appointment shall designate the <br /> respective representative and an alternate for each such representative. Each <br /> citizen member of the Commission shall have one vote and each City <br /> representative shall have one vote, cast either by the representative or his <br /> alternate, in conducting the business of said Commission. <br /> Section 7. That Section 7 of Chapter 35 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, <br /> be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended, so that said Section 7, as so modified and <br /> amended, shall provide as follows: <br /> 7. ASSIGNING PROPER NiTMBERS. The Director of the Economic <br /> and Urban Development Department, or his or her designee, is hereby authorized <br /> to assign to each and every building, and lot, its proper number in accordance with <br /> the preceding sections, and to deliver to each occupant or owner thereof, free of <br /> charge, a certificate designating the number or numbers so assigned. <br /> Section 8. That Section 6 of Chapter 44 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, <br /> be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended, so that said Section 6, as so modified and <br /> amended, shall provide as follows: <br /> 6. CODE OFFICIAL. The Chief of the Fire Department is hereby <br /> designated the code official and reference to such official herein or in said Code, <br /> shall be the same as if said officer was expressly referred to. Whenever reference <br /> is made in said Code to the Department of Building Inspections or similar <br />
