Item Coversheet Page 1 of 1 � Police Department DATE: 2/10/2016 MEMO: 16-16 TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe Decatur City Council Members FROM: Timothy A.Gleason,City Manager James E.Getz,Interim Chief of Police SUBJECT: SunGard Interface for the DigiTicket Electronic Ticketing Solution Software SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: The Decatur Police Department recommends executing an Agreement for the Purchase of the SunGard Interface for the DigiTicket Electronic Ticketing Solution Software by Saltus Technologies. BACKGROUND: The agreement is with SunGard Public Sector,which is the vendor for our current Records Management System.This agreement will allow for the creation of an interface for the electronic importation of the Citations written in the Saltus DigiTicket System to the SunGard Records Management System at a total cost of$18,095.00. Utilizing DigiTicket with the SunGard Interface will reduce human error and cut approximately eight hours per week of data entry by the Decatur Police Department's Records Unit personnel. The agreement is between the Decatur Police Department,the Macon County SherifPs Office and the Mt.Zion Police Department to share the cost of the SunGard Public Sector interface expenses. The total cost of this interface agreement is$18,095.00 which will be paid by the Decatur Police Department DUI Fund.The Macon County Sheriff's Department will reimburse the City of Decatur,$4,523.75 and the Mt.Zion Police Department will reimburse the City of Decatur$904.75. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None anticipated. STAFF REFERENCE: James E.Getz Jr.,Interim Chief of Police,424-2768,jgetz@decaturil.gov BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The total final City of Decatur cost for year one of the interface agreement with SunGard is$12,666.50.Successive years' maintenance costs are$2240.00 per year.The costs for the first year and successive years'expenses will be taken from the DUI Fund and from E-Citation Funds which are maintained in the DUI Fund.
