COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
No. 00-30
February 2, 2000
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members
FROM: Steve Garm City Manager
Cecil A. Colli s, Jr., Director of Community Development, Pla g and Transit
Kathy 7. Miller, AICP, Planner 1(.
SUBJECT: Easement Vacation Between Lots 9 and 10 of Northside Investment Park
A valid request has been received from the property owner adjoining the subject easement to
vacate the easement to construct a new apartment building. Inasmuch as the easement in
question serves only the adjoining property, staff is of the opinion that said easement is no longer
necessary to serve the general public and that best interests of the City of Decatur are served by
approving the vacation request.
All appropriate utility companies and franchise holders are willing to release this portion of the
platted easement. No compensation is necessary.
Staff recommends approval of the proposed vacation as submitted.
