Wilhelm, Municipal Services Manager
, SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing Changes in the City's Emergency Snow Routes
At the October meeting of the Traffic and Parking Commission, the Commission approved a
request from City staff to make changes to the streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes.
The Department of Public Works has established criteria to determine which streets should be
designated Emergency Snow Routes. Based on this criteria and the fact that the streets listed
below have been designated Winter "No Parking" streets, the following recommended changes
are made to the City's ordinance on Emergency Snow Routes:
Remove East Prairie from East Avenue to U.S. Route 36.
Remove East Main Street from East Avenue to U.S. Route 36.
Approval of these ordinance changes will complete the recommended changes that City staff
thinks are necessary to revise the City's Snow and Ice Control Plan far this winter. Staff will be
present to answer any questions the Council may have. I,
attach.
cc: Matthew C. Newell
