COMMU1vITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
No. 99- 307
December 15, 1999
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members
FROM: Steve Garman, City Manag p!''`
Cecil A. Collins, 7r., Direc of Community Development, Planrung and Transit
Kathy J. Miller, AICP, Pla er (Y-
SUBJECT: Annexation of premises commonly known as 61 Captain Lane
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's
Office. Containing 0.583 acres, the area in question is presently developed with a single family
dwelling. The main reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water to serve the existing
dwelling.
The following data has been compiled relative to the proposed annexation:
1. An existing watermain is located along Sullivan Drive and Captain Lane adjacent
to the subject tract; service is readily available.
2. The e}usting residence is served by an individual septic system; sanitary
sewer is not available.
3. Additional annual revenue of approxirnately $430 would become
available from the combined total of real estate, motor fuel, and state
income taxes.
Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical ertension of the
corporate limits.
Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented.
