This <br /> Uamendment (Section B) provides a language correction <br /> which had been overlooked due to a late insertion into the <br /> Agreement on September 24. <br /> Section C of the amendment provides for continuation of <br /> certain benefits including health and dental benefits <br /> otherwise provided to Mr. Garman, together with certain <br /> life insurance benefits for a period of twelve months <br /> following termination of the Agreement by the City, <br /> without cause. Council members should carefully review <br /> this Section since this provides Mr. Garman with <br /> continuation of health and dental benefits, as well as certain <br /> life insurance benefits, for a period of twelve months <br /> following termination. In relation to the health benefits, it <br /> appears that the Amendment would require the City to <br /> make payments otherwise required of Mr. Garman and <br /> referred to commonly as COBRA payments for a twelve <br /> month period. <br /> Section D of the amendment is a clarification suggested by <br /> the Finance Director, Beth Couter, correcting the plan <br /> under which contributions would be made for Mr. Garman. <br /> Section E of the amendment adds a further benefit to Mr. <br /> Garman. In Section E, the City agrees to provide Mr. <br /> Garman term life insurance benefits while he remains <br /> insurable and employed by the City. The death benefits of <br />
