OF'Fr
= C
v a
it,%
'/[LINO`'
November 9, 1999
PUBLIC WORKS MEMORANDUM
NO. 99 - 68
MEMORANDUM TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Steve Garman, City Manager
Bruce A. McNabb, P.E., Director of Public Works
Matthew C. Newell, P.E., Traffic Engineer ,C,
SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Establishment of an All Way Stop at the
Intersection of MacArthur Road and Ash Avenue
At the October meeting of the Traffic and Parking Commission, the Commission approved a
request from area residents to recommend the installation of an all-way stop at the intersection of
MacArthur Road and Ash Avenue. Resident concerns centered around growing congestion on
Ash at MacArthur.
Staff recommended that the requested all-way stop was unnecessary at this time and could
increase traffic on Ash by providing better access to MacArthur for Ash Avenue traffic.
Staff will be present to answer any questions the Council may have.
attach: 3
