Collins, Jr., Directo f ommunity Development, Planning and Transit
Kathy J. Miller, AICP,Planner (/V
SUBJECT: Annexation of Premises Co only Known as 2219 Sands Drive
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's
Office. Containing 0.62 acres, the area in question is presently developed with a single family
dwelling. The main reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water to serve the existing
dwelling.
The following data has been compiled relative to the proposed annexation:
1. An existing water main is located adjacent to the subject tract
at Sands Drive and at Westlawn Avenue service is readily available.
2. The esting residence is served by an individual septic system. The closest
sanitary sewer is located at least a half mile away and is not available at this time.
3. Additional annual revenue of approximately $565 would become
available from the combined total of real estate, motor fuel, and state
income tes.
Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the
corporate limits.
Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented.
