COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
No. 99- 252
October 13, 1999
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members
FROM: Rolanda Johnson, City Manager
Cecil A. Collins, 7r., Director d
Kathy 7. Miller, Planner 1
SUBJECT: Annexation of premises commonly known as 2230 Boiling Springs Road
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's
Office. Containing 0.74 acres, the area in question is presently developed with a single family
dwelling. The main reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water to serve the esting
dwelling.
The following data has been compiled relative to the proposed annexation:
1. An esting water main is located adjacent to the subject tract
at Boiling Springs Road; service is readily available.
2. The esting residence is served by an individual septic system. Sanitary
sewer is not available.
3. Additional annual revenue of approximately $579 would become
available from the combined total of real estate, motor fuel, and state
income taxes.
Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the
corporate limits.
Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented.
