, , ' ORDINANCE NO. 99-74 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING STOP INTERSECTIONS -HENDERSON AVENUE AND SILAS STREET - -ILLINOIS STREET AND HENDERSON AVENUE - BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COLTNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That when appropriate signs are erected giving notice thereof, the driver of a vehicle on Henderson Avenue approaching Silas Street from the east or west shall stop and yield the right-of-way to vehicles on Silas Street which have entered the intersection of said streets or which are approaching so closely thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard, but said driver having so stopped and yielded the right-of-way may proceed at such time as a safe interval occurs. Section 2. That when appropriate signs are erected giving notice thereof, the driver of a vehicle on Illinois Street approaching Henderson Avenue from the north or south shall stop and yield the right-of-way to vehicles on Henderson Avenue which have entered the intersection of said streets or which are approaching so closely thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard, but said driver having so stopped and yielded the right-of-way may proceed at such time as a safe interval occurs. Section 3. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars($200.00) for each offense.
