ORDINANCE NO. 99-73 Fee. �a�cQr�er AN ORDINANCE VACATING PORTION OF A STREET - 1100 AND 1200 BLOCKS OF WEST DECATUR STREET- WHEREAS, a request has been received from Millikin University, the owner of the property abutting thereon requesting vacation of a portion of a street in the City of Decatur, Illinois, said portion of street being commonly known as West Decatur Street and said portion of said street being more particulazly described as follows: A portion of West Decatur Street between South Fairview Avenue and South ' � Oakland Avenue described as follows: Beginning at a point 10.7 feet South of the Northwest comer of Lot Fourteen (14) of Block Three (3) of Oaklawn , Addition, as per Plat recorded in Book 149 Page 121 of the records in the '' Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois; thence 79.7 feet North to a point on the West line of Lot Sixteen (16) of Block Two (2) of said Oaklawn Addition, thence 12.73 feet Southeasterly to a point on the South line of said Lot Sixteen (16); thence East along the South line of said Block Two (2) of Oaklawn Addition and Block Three (3) of Oakland Place, as per Plat recorded in Book 149 Page 15 of the records in the Recorder's Office of.Macon County, Illinois, to the Southeast comer of Lot Twenty-Five (25) of said Block Three (3) of Oakland Place; thence 60 feet South to the Northeast corner of Lot Two (2) of Simpson's Addition as per Plat recorded in Book 149 Page 221 of the records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois; thence West along the North line of said Simpson's Addition and said Block Three (3) of Oaklawn Addition to a point 10 feet East of the Northeast corner of Lot Fourteen (14) of said Block Three (3) of Oaklawn Addition; thence Southwesterly 14.64 feet to the point of beginning; and, WHEREAS, said portion of said street is no longer useful to the public or to the City and the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of said street and the public will be relieved from any further burden or responsibility for opening, improving or maintaining said portion of said street.
