COMMUlVITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
' NO. 99- 109
May 12, 1999 '
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members
FROM: 7ames L. Williams, Jr., City Manager
Cecil A. Collins, Jr., Director orfmmunity Developme
Max Forgey, Senior Planner
Kathy J. Miller, Planner
SUBJECT: Annexation of premises generally located at the
Northwest corner of Maynor Street and Sandy Place
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's
Office. Containing 0.48 acres, the area in question is presently undeveloped with plans to
construct a single family dwelling. The main reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city
water to serve the new dwelling.
The following data has been compiled relative to the proposed annexation:
1. An esting watermain is located along Maynor Street adjacent to the
subject tract; service is readily available.
2. An esting sanitary sewer is located along Maynor Street and service is readily
available.
Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the
corporate limits.
Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented.
