Couter, Director of Financial Management� <br /> SUBJECT: Supplemental Appropriations for Fiscal Year 1998-1999 <br /> Six Grants Received During 1998-1999 <br /> Attached are six grants which the City received during fiscal year 1998-1999, after the <br /> Appropriation Ordinance was approved in July 1998. <br /> Police Law Enforcement Block Grant - Fund 04. Grant provided by U. S. Department of <br /> Justice for training costs. Grant amount is $50,000. Grant will end in 1999. <br /> Police Law Enforcement Block Grant - Fund 07. Grant provided by U. S. Department of <br /> Justice for training, equipment and overtime costs. Grant amount is $170,134. Grant will <br /> end in 2000. <br /> Environmental Service Fund - Fund 28. One time payment from Macon County to help <br /> off-set the cost of the community-wide paint recycling program held last fall. The grant <br />, amount is $25,000. The grant covered the cost of recycling the paint and advertising the <br /> event. <br /> Library Capital Grant - Fund 33. A one-time capital grant from Illinois Secretary of State <br /> to rehab the Sears building. Grant amount is $250,000. The grant is being used to rehab <br /> the new Library facility. <br /> Nitrate Study - Fund 87. Grant provided from the Illinois Environmental Protection <br /> Agency. This grant was sponsored by the former Senator Kehoe. Grant amount is <br /> $500 000. The rant is to be used to desi n modifications at the South Water Treatment <br /> � g g <br /> Plant to remove excess nitrates from the otable water. <br /> P <br /> Leaf Pro�ram - Fund 96. Grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and <br /> Community Affairs. Grant amount is $400,000. Grant was sponsored by the late Senator <br /> Severns and Representative Curry to provide funds for use in pilot leaf removal programs <br /> and to purchase equipment for leaf/yard waste removal. <br />
