Edwards, owner of property abutting thereon, requesting the vacation by the City Council of that portion of alley in the City of Decatur, Illinois described as: Beginning at a point at the Northeast corner of Lot Three (3) of F.M. Gaddis Addition as per Plat recorded in Book 149 Page 584 of the records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois; thence East 16 feet to the East right-of-way of alley; thence South ', to the North right-of-way line of West Johnson Avenue; thence Westerly to the Southeast corner of Lot Five (5) of said Addition; thence North to the point of beginning; and, WHEREAS, said portion of alley is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owner of the property abutting thereon as an alley; and, WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of alley and the public will be relieved from the further burden and responsibility of maintaining the same. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the above described portion of alley be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public alley inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public interest will be subserved by such vacation, said portion of alley being shown on the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part hereof.
